Auckland, New Zealand. Saturday, Day 1 Tough Mudder. Conquered! After a less than ideal flight into New Zealand yesterday, today's effort by myself and Laura was so good! I am super pleased how our first run of the weekend went. The Auckland course was great. Comparable to Melbourne, I'd say it takes the cake. More about the course later though. The atmosphere was electric, I believe due to this being the first Mudder in NZ. So many high fives, and so much encouragement from participants, volunteers and spectators alike! |
I feel 100 times better than I did after day 1 in Melbourne, just 4 weeks ago. I have the tiniest twinge in my left hammy, but apart from that, I feel 100%. I was even a bit upset that the last wave had left by the time we finished the course, as I feel I could do 2 laps today, and possibly tomorrow as well. It might be best we didn't run 3 over the weekend at this point in my training though, but I think I will up my training to run the 3 laps on the Sunshine Coast in 4 months time.
Anyways, this was just a quick update on how today went. Beach recovery session is planned for tonight, and another run around the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park tomorrow.
I shall give a quick update after tomorrow as well, but stay tuned on Monday for a full write up of the entire weekend. You can like TMTour2014 on Facebook and follow me on Twitter to see more photos and get more updates in the meantime.
Until then, Hoo-Rah Mudders!
